Why we started this…

Look, COVID-19 has hit the UK HARD. c65,000 deaths, major uncertainty, a feeling of dread and helplessness; they’re all there. Both J and myself have had to deal with varied issues and setbacks and have decided to lighten the mood a bit by having a scheduled, recorded chat about what’s going on and how we’re dealing with it all. We’re not too bothered if we don’t gain a following but if there are a few people who listen to our ramblings and find joy from them we’ll be happy. Also, we are talkers…getting out of the house (even into the workplace) provides us with an outlet where we get to speak to other adults and have healthy conversations and debates about the issues that we are affected by and are interested in; lockdown has suppressed our natural need to have meaningful discussions with our peers. We’ve decided to do this to preserve our sanities; we are struggling. I should probably add that we are both mothers and are both living FAR AWAY from our immediate families. It doesn’t help that our families are also living 8 hours behind us! Our support systems are miniscule. We NEED to do this.

We can only hope that, among thousands of podcasts, ours can provide some laughter during this pandemic (and afterward!).
